William McLatchie

William was born on May 14th, 1797 in Old Cumnock and his baptism took place there on May 24th, 1797.^1 2

William's father was Hugh McLatchie and his mother was Agnes Reid.  His paternal grandparents were John McLatchie and Janet Mcowan. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John, Andrew, Robert, Hugh, Sarah, Margaret and Elizabeth.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 65 on July 21st, 1862 in Old Cumnock.  He was buried in Old Cumnock.^1 1
