Michael was born on October 6th, 1839 in Falkirk.1 2  Michael's father was Michael Henderson and his mother was Margaret Galloway.  His paternal grandparents were James Henderson and Isabel Walker; his maternal grandparents were Robert Galloway and Helen McLauchlan. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Robert, James, Alexander, John, Helen, Mary, Agnes and Isabella.  He was the oldest of the nine children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named David and Jeanie.  He died due to natural causes or old age at the age of 79 on February 21st, 1919 in Toronto.  He was buried in Toronto.1 1
