Thomas' father was James Hamilton and his mother was Jane Tudhope.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Hamilton and <Unknown>. He had a brother and eight sisters, named Hamilton, Elizabeth, Jeanie, Janet, Margaret, Hamilton, Jemima, Mary and Belle.  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 91 on March 5th, 1949 in Manurewa.  He was buried in Auckland.^3 4
