James Gilchrist 
James was born in 1878 in Paisley.1 2 James' father was Robert Gilchrist and his mother was Agnes Shaw. His maternal grandparents were James Shaw and Jane Wason. He had four brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Robert, David, Douglas and Jane. He was the third oldest of the six children.-
