David Gilchrist 
David was born in 1883 in Glasgow.1 David's father was Robert Gilchrist and his mother was Agnes Shaw. His maternal grandparents were James Shaw and Jane Wason. He had four brothers and a sister, named Thomas, James, Robert, Douglas and Jane. He was the second youngest of the six children.-
