James Shaw

James was born on June 21st, 1834 in Monkton and his baptism took place there on June 27th, 1834.¹²

James' father was Thomas Shaw and his mother was Jean Scoffield. His paternal grandparents were Robert Shaw and Mary Eaglesham-Smith; his maternal grandparents were James Scoffield and Jane Bone. He had three brothers and four sisters, named James, Robert, Robert, Janet, Agnes, Ann and Margaret. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 83 in 1917 in Paisley.
