James George Bookless

James was born on October 9th, 1902 in Shotts.

James' father was John Bookless and his mother was Margaret (Maggie) Nicol Henderson. His maternal grandparents were William Henderson and Isabel Nichol. He had three brothers and four sisters, named John, William, Matthew, Isabella, Isabella, Agnes and Maggie. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died as a war casualty, died in Japanese POW camp, at the age of 41 on October 20th, 1943 in Thailand. He was buried in Thailand.¹
