Andrew's father was Robert Barr and his mother was Isabella Hamilton.  His maternal grandparents were Alexander Hamilton and Sara Fraser. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Alexander, Alexander, John, William, Hugh, James, Margaret, Sarah, Mary and Sarah.  He was the second oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 71 on December 27th, 1930 in Arkansas.  He was buried in Arkansas.
