Margaret was born in 1847 in Kilmarnock.1   Margaret's father was James Armour and her mother was Jean McMorran.  Her maternal grandparents were Robert McMorran and Jean McCrone. She had six brothers and three sisters, named John, Robert, Andrew, James, James, Thomas, Jane, Agnes and Janet.  She was the fifth oldest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 11 in 1858 in Kilmarnock.
