William D was born on February 6th, 1841 in Columbus Co.  William D's father was Doctor Franklin Williamson and his mother was Orpha Goodwin (Godwin).  His paternal grandfather was Isham Isom Williamson and his paternal grandmother is Margaret Powell; his maternal grandparents were Elias Goodwin (Godwin) and Nancy Baldwin. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Benjamin Franklin, Willis Kendred, John Isom, Marshall Pitman, Louela Ethel, Mary and Penelope Elizabeth.  He died at the age of 45 in 1886.
