Marshall Pitman's father was Doctor Franklin Williamson and his mother was Orpha Goodwin (Godwin).  His paternal grandfather was Isham Isom Williamson and his paternal grandmother is Margaret Powell; his maternal grandparents were Elias Goodwin (Godwin) and Nancy Baldwin. He had four brothers and three sisters, named William D, Benjamin Franklin, Willis Kendred, John Isom, Louela Ethel, Mary and Penelope Elizabeth.
