Mary was born about 1728.  Mary's father was George Tankersley and her mother was Mary Longley Long.  Her paternal grandparents were Reuben Tankersley and Sarah Ann Beverley. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Reuben, George, Richard, John, Dorcas and Sarah.  She was the fourth oldest of the seven children.  She died about June 3rd, 1784 in King George Co. VA.
