Walter was born in 1868.  Walter's father was Thomas Marshall and his mother is Hannah Moon.  His maternal grandparents are James Moon and Sarah Jones. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William, Benjamin, Thomas, Samuel, John, Sarah Jane, Martha and Bertha.  He was the eighth oldest of the nine children.  He died on February 13th, 1868.
