Benjamin was born in 1856.  Benjamin's father was Thomas Marshall and his mother is Hannah Moon.  His maternal grandparents are James Moon and Sarah Jones. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William, Thomas, Samuel, John, Walter, Sarah Jane, Martha and Bertha.  He was the third oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 94 on May 21st, 1950.
