Phineas Paxton was born on October 18th, 1798.  Phineas Paxton's father was William Marshall and his mother was Mary C. Banes.  His paternal grandparents were James Marshall and Jane Lindsey. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Jane "Creative Jane", James M., William, John, Elizabeth, Jane and Hester Lemen.  He was the sixth oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 63 on June 11th, 1862.
