Jane was born in 1790 in Berkeley County, WV.  Jane's father was William Marshall and her mother was Mary C. Banes.  Her paternal grandparents were James Marshall and Jane Lindsey. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Jane "Creative Jane", James M., William, Phineas Paxton, John, Elizabeth and Hester Lemen.  She was the second oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 90 in 1880 in Clark County, OH.
