John Milton was born on December 17th, 1821.  John Milton's father was Samuel Lowrey and his mother was Rachael Hannah Wortman Woertman Workman.  His paternal grandparents were John Lowrey and Mary Shelly; his maternal grandparents were Abraham  Woertman Workman and <Unknown>. He had five brothers and five sisters, named William Greenleaf, James H, Samuel E, Newton Hugh, Demereus, Isabel, Eliza C, Aley, Aley B Abby and Hannah Jane.  He was the fourth oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 79 in 1900.
