Eliza C was born in 1820.  Eliza C's father was Samuel Lowrey and her mother was Rachael Hannah Wortman Woertman Workman.  Her paternal grandparents were John Lowrey and Mary Shelly; her maternal grandparents were Abraham  Woertman Workman and <Unknown>. She had six brothers and four sisters, named William Greenleaf, John Milton, James H, Samuel E, Newton Hugh, Demereus, Isabel, Aley, Aley B Abby and Hannah Jane.  She was the third oldest of the eleven children.
