William was born in 1789.  William's father was William Bingham Biggam Bigham (Bingaham Bingham) and his mother was Anne Wilson.  His paternal grandparents were Hugh Bingham and Martha Jane Armour; his maternal grandparents were Charles Wilson and Mary Wemyss Weems. He had six brothers and a sister, named Thomas Wilson, Hugh, Charles Wilson, John Armour, James, Armour and Anna ELiza.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
