John Armour was born in 1789.  John Armour's father was William Bingham Biggam Bigham (Bingaham Bingham) and his mother was Anne Wilson.  His paternal grandparents were Hugh Bingham and Martha Jane Armour; his maternal grandparents were Charles Wilson and Mary Wemyss Weems. He had six brothers and a sister, named Thomas Wilson, Hugh, Charles Wilson, William, James, Armour and Anna ELiza.  He was the fifth oldest of the eight children.
