Armour was born in 1800.  Armour's father was William Bingham Biggam Bigham (Bingaham Bingham) and his mother was Anne Wilson.  His paternal grandparents were Hugh Bingham and Martha Jane Armour; his maternal grandparents were Charles Wilson and Mary Wemyss Weems. He had six brothers and a sister, named Thomas Wilson, Hugh, Charles Wilson, William, John Armour, James and Anna ELiza.  He was the seventh oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 44 in 1844.
