George Savage 
George was born in 1471 in Clifton, Cheshire, England.1 George's father was John Savage and his mother was Catherine Stanley. His paternal grandparents were John Savage and Elizabeth Brereton; his maternal grandparents were Sir Thomas Stanley and Joan Goushill. He had ten brothers and six sisters, named Lawrence, John, Robert, James, Thomas, Humphrey, Richard, William, Christopher, Edward, Eleanor, Margaret, Elizabeth, Savage, Alice and Katherine. He was the third youngest of the seventeen children.-
