Mary was born on April 18th, 1779.1 Mary's father was Henry Pirtle and her mother was Mary Viney. Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Pirtle and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were Andrew Viney and Susannah. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named John, George, Henry, Jacob, Thomas, Isaac, Abner, Artemesia, Keziah, Elizabeth and Cassandra. She was the fourth oldest of the twelve children.-
