Rebecca Elizabeth Despain 
Rebecca was born on July 29th, 1845 in Green County, Kentucky.1 Rebecca's father was John B. Despain and her mother was Malinda A. Bazor. Her paternal grandparents were James Scott DeSpain and Susan (Sally) Peterson; her maternal grandparents were John Bazor and Mary. She had eight brothers and seven sisters, named James, Joseph, John, Henry, Hutty, Fielding, Lewis, Edward, Sary, Mary, Nancy, Polly, Sally, Araminta and Patsy. She was the third youngest of the sixteen children.-
