Lewis Oscar Despain 
Lewis was born on May 24th, 1841 in Green County, Kentucky.1 Lewis' father was John B. Despain and his mother was Malinda A. Bazor. His paternal grandparents were James Scott DeSpain and Susan (Sally) Peterson; his maternal grandparents were John Bazor and Mary. He had seven brothers and eight sisters, named James, Joseph, John, Henry, Hutty, Fielding, Edward, Sary, Mary, Nancy, Polly, Sally, Rebecca, Araminta and Patsy. He was the fifth youngest of the sixteen children. He died at the age of 97 on August 27th, 1938 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky.2 -
