John M. Despain 
John was born on March 25th, 1830 in Green County, Kentucky.1 John's father was John B. Despain and his mother was Malinda A. Bazor. His paternal grandparents were James Scott DeSpain and Susan (Sally) Peterson; his maternal grandparents were John Bazor and Mary. He had seven brothers and eight sisters, named James, Joseph, Henry, Hutty, Fielding, Lewis, Edward, Sary, Mary, Nancy, Polly, Sally, Rebecca, Araminta and Patsy.
