Melinda J. (Malinda J.) was born on June 30th, 1858 in Pulaski County, Kentucky.1 Melinda J. (Malinda J.)'s father was Cyrenus Wait Colyer and her mother was Sarah Waddle. Her paternal grandparents were John Wesley Colyer and Lydia Memes Purvis. She had five brothers and two sisters, named John W., Charles G., Cyrenus, Jehu, James Perry, Minerva E.(Manerva E.) and Manerva Luela. She was the fourth oldest of the eight children. She died in 1858.General Notes
