John L. BLUE 
John L. was born on October 5th, 1835 in Knox Co., Illinois.1 John L.'s father was John Salter BLUE and his mother was Mary MARTIN. His paternal grandparents were David BLUE and Phoebe WALLINGFORD. He had four brothers and three sisters, named William Martin, Perry Lewis, Andrew Jackson, Milton, Alvina, Clara and Sarah. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Absalom A., Bailey Regan and Cynthia Ann.-
