John L Akin 
John L was born on July 14th, 1837 in Salem, Henry Co, Iowa, USA. John L's father was James Akin and his mother was Eliza Richey. His paternal grandparents were James Akin and Mary Murphy. He had two brothers and five sisters, named James, Franklin Street, Elizabeth, Nancy, Frances R, Caroline and Mary Ann. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 73 on March 4th, 1911 in Albany, Linn Co, Oregon, USA. He was buried in Bell Fountain Cemetery, Benton Co, Oregon, USA.General Notes
