Slayton was born on May 16th, 1897 in Mason, WV.1 Slayton's father was George Albert Slayton and her mother was Sarah Emily Cox. Her paternal grandparents were Daniel W. Slayton and Mary Shiltz. She had five brothers and four sisters, named George R., John S., Daniel Emanuel, Isaiah W, James A., Lilly Belle, Lydia D., Sarah Ola and Ollie. She was the second youngest of the ten children. She had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named John S., Isiah W., Lillie B., Sarah Ola and Infant. She died on May 16th, 1897 in Mason, WV.1 -
