Clara Elise was born on March 12th, 1866 in Winesburg, Holmes Co, OH. Clara Elise's father was Charles Peter and her mother was Julia Nydegger. Her paternal grandparents were Johan Jacob Peter and Barbara Elizabeth Fuchs; her maternal grandparents were John Rudolph Nydegger and Anna Dobler. She had seven brothers and a sister, named Robert, Theodore Philip, August Willhelm, Victor Otto, Wilhelm Arthur, Rudolph Jacob, Arthur Hugo and Mary Augusta. She is the third youngest of the nine children. She had five half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Carl Herman Rudolph Cornelius, Carl Alfred, Franz Eugene, Wilhelm August Emil, Carl Rudolph Friedrich, Hermina Rosalia, Maria Colestina, Hennrietta Charlotta and Fredrick Alfred.General Notes
