Samuel was born in 1827 in Rose Twp, Carroll Co, OH. Samuel's father was John McCreery and his mother was Ianthe Hayes. His paternal grandparents were William McCreery and Elizabeth C; his maternal grandparents were William Hayes and Rachel Russel.
