William Douglas 
William was born about 1398 in Mar, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. William's father was George Douglas and his mother was Mary Stewart. His paternal grandparents were William Douglas and Margaret Stewart; his maternal grandparents were Robert III Stewart and Annabella Drummond. He had two sisters named Elizabeth and Mary. He was the oldest of the three children. He had eight half-brothers and a half-sister, named Gilbert, James, John, Patrick, Walter, William, Robert, William and Mary.
