George Douglas 
George was born about 1428 in Mar, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. George's father was William Douglas and his mother was Margaret Hay. His paternal grandparents were George Douglas and Mary Stewart; his maternal grandfather was William Hay and his maternal grandmother is Alicia De la Hay. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Hugh, William, Margaret, Helen and Catherine. He was the third oldest of the six children. He died in 1463.General Notes

George, 4th Earl of Angus
The Earls of Angus remained loyal to Ja mes II even as their kinsmen, the
Black Douglases, were making war on him. Ge orge, 4th Earl of Angus led
the King's Army against his kinsman, James, 9th E arl of Douglas, at the
Battle of Arkinholm in 1455. The result was the end of the Black
Douglases. After the battle an act of parliament gave Angus the lo rdship
of Douglas with the original possessions of his ancestors in Douglasda le.
The 4th Earl died in 1463.
