Thomas De Berkeley 
Thomas was born in 1293 in Gloucestershire, England. Thomas' father was Maurice De Berkeley and his mother was Eve La Zouche. His paternal grandparents were Thomas De Berkeley and Joan De Ferrers; his maternal grandparents were Eudo La Zouche and Milicent De Cantlupe. He was an only child. He died at the age of 68 on October 27th, 1361 in Gloucestershire, England.General Notes

In 1327 Thomas was made joint suctodian of the deposed King Edward II,
whom h e received at Berkeley Castle, but being commanded to deliver over
the govern ment to his fellow custodians. Lord Maltravers and Sir Thomas
Gournay, He le ft there to go to Bradley "with heavy cheere perceiving
what violence was int ended." As an accessory to the murder of the
deposed king, he was tried by a jury of 12 knights in the 4th year of
King Edward II, but was honorably acqu itted.
