Jean De Avesnes

Jean was born in 1278 in Valenciennes, Nord, France. Jean's father was Jean II De Avesnes and his mother was Philippine De Luxembourg. His paternal grandparents were Jean I De Avesnes and Aleida of Holland. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Henri, Valeran, Willem III, Alix, Marguerite, Isabelle, Jeanne, Marie and Ida. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 79 on March 11th, 1357.
