Thomas was born about 1535 in Afton, Devonshire, Eng.. Thomas' father was Hugh Stewkley and his mother is Jane Pollard. His paternal grandfather was Thomas Stewkley and his paternal grandmother is Anne Wood; his maternal grandfather was Lewes Pollard. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Lewes or Lewis, George, Hugh, Anias, Anne, Mary, Elizabeth, Audrie, Agnes and Catherine. He is the fourth youngest of the eleven children.-
