Her paternal grandfather was Thomas Stewkley and her paternal grandmother is Anne Wood; her maternal grandfather was Lewes Pollard. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Lewes or Lewis, George, Thomas, Hugh, Anias, Anne, Mary, Elizabeth, Agnes and Catherine. She is the fourth oldest of the eleven children.-
