Grove Harrison Cartledge 
Grove Harrison was born on February 15th, 1820. Grove Harrison's father was Samuel Cartledge and his mother was Agnes Weakly Groves. His paternal grandfather was Joseph Cartledge and his paternal grandmother is Dilly Landers. He had four brothers and two sisters, named William M., Stephen Groves, Joseph, Samuel, Elizabeth Weakly and Martha. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 79 on July 5th, 1899.General Notes

Groves was a 6th. generation American . He shared Ist. Honors at Oglethorpe University, Midway , Ga. in 1845. He organized many Presbyterian Churches He was a member of the Board of visitors, University of GA. . He served as a Chaplain to the Confederate army in Virginia in 1864.
Grove Harrison and Annie Maria were married. They had eight sons and two daughters, named George Rockinham, Charles W., Joseph, John Hampton, Luther Howard, Thomas Davison, Samuel Jackson, Robert Lee, Annie Dora and Sarah Agnes.
