General Notes
Edmund Cartledge Sr. came with William Penn to America in 1683 on the ship WELCOME His wife was Mary Notts and they owned a lot in Philadelphia and settled on two hundred acres in Darby Penn. He was an Indian trader and was appointed canstable in 1685 and a supervisor in 1692. His tombstone is a part of the wall at Friends Graveyard at Darby Penn. His widow married Peter Trey in 1709.

Edmund.
