William A. Underwood

William A. was born on September 9th, 1811 in Green Co.,Kentucky.  William A.'s father was Hiram Underwood and his mother was Celia Buley.  His paternal grandfather was James Underwood and his paternal grandmother is Keziah Unknown. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named William C., Thomas E., Calloway, Anderson, Mason, Lafayette, Green Berry, Hiram ,Jr., Nancy Jennie, Virginia Jane, Celia and Mary Jane.  He was the second oldest of the thirteen children.  He died at the age of 69 on August 8th, 1881 in Taylor Co.,Kentucky.

‌William A. and Mariah J. were married in a religious ceremony on July 20th, 1831 in Green Co.,Kentucky.  They had five sons and six daughters, named William, Hiram, Thomas, Jesse, George W., Sally, Nancy, Mariah, Celia, Ursula and Martha F..
