John Blackhawk was born in 1805 in Kentucky. John Blackhawk's father was James ,3rd,Rev. Skaggs and his mother is Nancy Mayse. His paternal grandfather was James ,Jr. Skaggs and his paternal grandmother is Mary Unknown. He had six brothers and three sisters, named Henry, James ,4th, Matthew, Stephen, William, Moses Madison, Nancy, Lydia and Sarah. He was the second youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 55 on December 20th, 1860.-
