Penelope Merrill 
Penelope was born in 1759 in Jersey Settlement,Rowan County,NC. Penelope's father was Benjamin Merrill and her mother was Jemima Smith. Her paternal grandparents were William Merrill and Penelope Stout. She had seven brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, John, Andrew, William, Charles, Elijah, Jonathan, Nancy, Anna and Ellen.
