Hannah was born on February 22nd, 1814 in Whitley County,KY. Hannah's father was Benjamin Jones Gilreath and her mother was Mary "Polly" Moore. Her paternal grandparents were John Gilreath and Johannah Jones. She had five brothers and five sisters, named John Lewis, William Wesley, Benjamin Perry , Jr., Gideon, James L., Anna, Elizabeth, Martha, Mary and Susannah.-
