Franklin Thomas was born on April 21st, 1870 in Sutton Farm, El Paso, Woodford County, Illinois. Franklin Thomas' father was Samuel Sutton and his mother was Hannah Sheldon. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Sutton and Margaret Critton; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Sheldon and UNKNOWN Mary. He had four brothers and two sisters, named George Sheldon, Samuel Critton, William Fenton, Edwin Percival, Anna Eliza and Mary Margaret. He was the third oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 60 on November 9th, 1930 in Fargo, Cass County, North Dakota.General Notes

Sutton reads:
"Franklin Thomas Sutton was born to Samuel and Hannah Sheldon Sutton on
April 21st 1870, at El Paso, Illinois, and departed from this life on
November 9, 1930, at Fargo, North Dakota. He grew to manhood on the farm
2 miles west of El Paso, later going to Minnesota. For the past several
years he made his home with his Brother at Hunter, North Dakota.
Surviving the deceased are one sister, Mrs. Mary Miesse, Peoria,
Illinois, and four brothers, Critton of Hesperus, Colorado, George S.,
Omaha, Nebraska, Wm. F., Hunter, North Dakota, and Edwin P. of El Paso,
Illinoisk one niece and three nephews. His parents and one sister, Anna
E. preceded him in death."
