Baldwin I (VI of Flanders) of was born in Flanders, Nord, France.  Baldwin I (VI of Flanders) of's father was Baldwin V the Pious de Lille of Flanders and his mother was Adela (Alix) Capet of France.  His paternal grandparents were Baldwin IV Fair Beard Barbatus of Flanders and Ogive (Otgiva) of Luxemburg; his maternal grandparents were Robert II Capet the Pious of France and Constance of Arles and Toulouse. He had a brother and a sister, named Robert I the Frisian of and Mathilda of. He had a half-brother named Nicholas de.  He died on July 17th, 1070 in Abbey of Hanson.  He was buried in Abbey of Hanson.
