Adelaide was born in Vermandois, Neustria.  Adelaide's father was Herbert II of Vermandois and her mother was Adela (Hildebrante) of France.  Her paternal grandfather was Hubert (Herbert) I Senlis of Vermandois and her paternal grandmother is Bertha de Morvais; her maternal grandfather was Robert I of the West Franks and her maternal grandmother is Adele de France. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Odo (Eudes) I of, Herbert the Elder de Vermandois of, Hugh of, Robert de Vermandois of, Albert (Adalbert) I the Pious of, Alice of, Sprota (Adela) de Senlis and Luitgarda (Alix). She had a half-sister named UNKNOWN.  She died in Bruges, Aquitaine, France.
