Sarah Rebecca was born on April 9th, 1869 in Vermillionville, La Salle County, Illinois. Sarah Rebecca's father was Samuel Gordon and her mother was Susan Ann McDowell. Her paternal grandparents were James Gordon and Mary Bratton; her maternal grandparents were James M. McDowell and Eliza Daniels. She had five brothers and six sisters, named George R., Leroy, Levy, John Harrison, Wiley James, Mary Eliza, Rosa Jane, Ophelia Grace, Ella Belle, Emma May and Francis Marion. She was the sixth oldest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 81 on November 11th, 1950.General Notes
