George R. Gordon 
George R. was born on January 14th, 1861 in Vermillionville, La Salle County, Illinois. George R.'s father was Samuel Gordon and his mother was Susan Ann McDowell. His paternal grandparents were James Gordon and Mary Bratton; his maternal grandparents were James M. McDowell and Eliza Daniels. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Leroy, Levy, John Harrison, Wiley James, Mary Eliza, Rosa Jane, Sarah Rebecca, Ophelia Grace, Ella Belle, Emma May and Francis Marion. He was the oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 74 on June 12th, 1935.-
