Francis Marion Gordon 
Francis Marion was born on May 28th, 1875 in Vermillionville, La Salle County, Illinois. Francis Marion's father was Samuel Gordon and her mother was Susan Ann McDowell. Her paternal grandparents were James Gordon and Mary Bratton; her maternal grandparents were James M. McDowell and Eliza Daniels. She had five brothers and six sisters, named George R., Leroy, Levy, John Harrison, Wiley James, Mary Eliza, Rosa Jane, Sarah Rebecca, Ophelia Grace, Ella Belle and Emma May. She was the second youngest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 81 on April 5th, 1957.-
